Salvage, analysis and crafting
salvage <thing> - break something down into materials
analyze <thing> (analyse) - study it for what it can tell you
craft <blueprint> - build something you know how to build
patch <thing> - field repair
recalibrate <thing> - tune a device back to spec
research - turn accumulated findings into a blueprint
The loop
Kill or scavenge, salvage what you find into materials, analyze the
interesting pieces, research what you learn into blueprints, then craft.
Material properties carry through: what you build from decides what it is.
Crafting takes time
Timed work can be interrupted — by moving, or by somebody attacking you
mid-synthesis. Your inputs are reserved while the work runs, so an
interrupted craft does not silently eat them.
What you see depends on what you know
analyze surfaces different observations for different skills. Running it
with Scrapper tells you one thing; Streetwise tells you another.
